Recently, the national agricultural department released new guidelines on fertilizer use and safety precautions. Experts emphasized that proper fertilizer application is crucial for boosting crop yields. For instance, when cultivating wheat, fertilization plans should be tailored to soil fertility and target yield. In moderately fertile fields, it is recommended to apply 8–13 kg/mu of nitrogen (N), 4–6 kg/mu of phosphorus (P₂O₅), and 4–6 kg/mu of potassium (K₂O). Experts also advise combining organic and chemical fertilizers to enhance soil fertility and reduce reliance on chemical inputs.

Additionally, careful attention is needed when applying fertilizers. For example, urea, a commonly used nitrogen fertilizer, should not be followed by immediate watering, as this may cause fertilizer burn and damage seedlings. Excessive nitrogen, particularly in legume crops, can lead to delayed maturity and reduced yields due to excessive vegetative growth.
